Continuing from Part 1. There is a hill behind the old church. We use to go up the hill behind the church through 14 stations of the cross, lighting candles at each station: Here is the hill: The first station: Fourth station: The ten commandments written on one of the stations in English. There is also one in Chinese and one in Indian language: This is at the top of the hill: This is where we collect holy water. Used to be only a well but now it is piped and properly organized.

I have been going to St Anne in Bukit Mertajam on the mainland every year as long as I can remember. Every year around Jul 26; thousands of people from all over the country will do pilgrimage to this obscure church in Penang. St Anne is the grandmother of Jesus Christ. The link to the church is here . I found some history of her here . We usually observe the candle light possession and celebrate the Feast of Saint Anne. Often you will find people begging on the streets along the road and up the stairs. Do not look down on them, most of them are just honoring their pledge. The bus stop

It's been a while since I took the bus in Penang. Several years back, there was a new bus company that was transferred from Kuala Lumpur to Penang called Rapid. This company was to improve the public transport in Penang. It's been more than a year since Rapid Penang service started (July 2007). Since my children wanted to go to town and my car was temporary unavailable, I thought I would take the opportunity to see if the public transport in Penang has improved. We left the house about 12:15 pm and approached the bus stop. When we reached the bus stop, there were about 11 persons there (two senior citizens, 3 children included). We spoke to them and they told me that they have been waiting there for more than 15 minutes but have not seen a single bus throughout that time - passing either side of the road. They were visitor from Medan in Indonesia. This is the busiest road in Penang and yet not a single bus passed by the road for more than 20 minutes unbelievable. My children an
