NAILS IN THE FENCE

Received this from a friend - posted it a bit late. National Friendship week is on Aug 2, 2009 (one week late). Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence. (Most importantly the last sentence) There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the h

Lotus Touts

I received this recently by mail but did not want to fill up inbox of the mails so decided to post it here. These are very nice thoughts. Mental Feng Shui This is without a doubt one of the nicest good luck forwards I have received. Hope it works for you -- and me! Lotus Touts: There's some mighty fine advice in these words, even if you're not superstitious. This Lotus Touts has been sent to you for good luck from the Anthony Robbins organization. It has been sent around the world ten times so far. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, t heir conversational skills will be as important as any other. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want. When you say, 'I love you,' mean it. When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye. Be engaged at least six months before you get married. Believe in love at first sight. Never laugh at anyone's dreams. P

Aloe Vera - another Nature's Wonder

Image
Nature provides a lot of wonderful gift to us and it is up to us to appreciate them. One such gift is the aloe vera plant. This is how the plant looks like: When you cut the leaves, you will find within in a transparent jelly like substance. Many companies started discovering its wonders so you can find various skin care products containing extracts from Aloe Vera. In fact, my parents occasionally use for minor cuts, help with hair growth and even make dessert from it. This is my observation but I do not have any medical background so don't take my word, just try it yourself. Only thing I can tell you that so far it works. There are some write up the benefits here - I am not promoting their product!! Some more writeup also in wikipedia .

eFiling for Malaysian Income Tax

This is the third year for e-Filing for Malaysia's Income Tax and I have to say that the process has improved dramatically. In the first year, it was necessary to download the PDF for each person you want to file it for. There was also problems and teething issues in submitting the form. On the second year, due to the above problem, the whole process completed ported to web based instead of dependent on Acrobat Reader. This made the filing much simpler but the printing was terrible. The pages did not align properly. Also with the electronic certificate, if you made a mistake and tried to get a new certificate, you had problem with Windows and had to create another account to redo the certificate. The other issue was since the certificate was embedded into your PC, you could not change the computer without losing the certificate (or for that matter lost it if you had to reinstall Windows). This is the third year, it looks like the certificate is now stored on the server. The

Pyramid Parking

Image
Pyramid Parking Originally uploaded by strovek Just visited Sunway Pyramid this weekend. I found that the new parking lot for the convention center is fantastic. The following is a photo taken from the Star web site. Notice the light at the top of the parking lot. If it is not occupied, it will be green. Once occupied, it will turn red. This makes it much easier to find vacant parking lots. I also found the parking lots to be very spacious and well lit. Bravo!!
